Susi you have over 8 months, that is outstanding.  Yes in the back of your mind the yearning for the nicotine rush is still laying in wait.

You can say No, you can tell that little voice to go to hell,   YOU CAN keep your NOPE

Find something else to do. It sounds like you are looking for some kind of escape. Go see a movie, go see a friend, anything but pee away your health and your money like that.

Because you are bored perhaps.. Any wood you can chop? any bike you can ride? An ocean perhaps where you can play with the water and waves ?  Anything that will take you out of the place and time where you are right now.

Take yourself out the misery of "wanting" a cigarette.

Nov 6, 2011 I decided " I had enough with this sh*t "

I quit because I just got tired of the life under a rock, dark and with not enough air to breathe waiting for the day to get crushed!

Alcohol to a quit is like Kryptonite to Superman

Stop, Think and then React. Not React,Stop and then Think

Practice does not make it perfect, makes it permanent. Practice the right things!

Quitting is by far the best decision for the rest of your life.

If a Doctor gives you 6 months to live, would you start living after the first three? Quit now!

" I am a puff away form a pack a day"

Once you stop puffing or having Nicotine in any form, then and only then your symptoms will stop.

I quit with a frozen turkey. Once I felt comfortable with my quit,  I ate it.

Life is such a good teacher, that if you don't learn the lesson it will repeat it to you.

Nice thing is you can actually do all of that but smoke.  Last night I flew home from Buffalo, NY to Baltimore, MD.  The freedom from smoking has been truly amazing.  No need to huff 3-4 down quickly before and after flights.  But I got off the plane and all I wanted was to go to my local bar, where you can smoke, drink beer, play darts and smoke.  I decided I was going to go.  I'm not depriving myself of things I like to do.  I just need to do them without smoking.  Which I did.  Just have resolve.  Tell yourself you don't smoke.  Then don't smoke.  I know, easy to say, hard to do.  And I'm only about 4 weeks in so its not like I'm a long-termer.  But I refuse to stop doing other things I like that I associated with smoking just because I stopped smoking.  That makes the quit depressing and like giving up cigs means giving up everything else I like.

Susiq, I was about the same time quit as you are now when I posted pretty much the same thing. It sucks that this addiction has such a strong hold but that's why they recommend the one year pledge I guess. Here is my thread, hope it helps :) https://www.quitsmok...-day/?p=1180817

susiq I think you can go to the casino and play and drink without smoking.  I have been since my quit and I didn't want to smoke.  But, if you feel it will be to much of a temptation, just log on to a free slot machine site on your computer and fix yourself a drink.

You will know when you have enough resolve to keep your quit, even in tempting situations.

Never smokers take not smoking for granted, we quitters know the real value of being a nonsmoker.

Because it is Friday? Because it is something fun you used to do? I had those moments to--asking my brain whhyyyy?? Big part was nostalgia. Once upon a time you smoked. You did this, that , & the other and you smoked & had so much fun!!! Today you can do this, that and the other & breathe & have so much fun because you don't smoke!!! I can't advise you to go or not go to the casino. Ask yourself if you're ready to go, have fun & not smoke--or if you need a little more time.
