Hi im krystal so day one of no smoking for myself and my husband chris. Im using patches and he is on champix. We did so well till tonight. Had one smoke and i cannot believe after only 16 hours how bad it tasted. I stopped half way and brushed my teeth. I need surgery and we want to start a family. So im totally ready to kick the habit. Anywho thought i would just introduce ourselves. So helloo and looking foward to making some quit buddies.

Hi Krystal, stick around, read, learn and participate around here a lot, it will make the difference between making it or not.

Nov 6, 2011 I decided " I had enough with this sh*t "

I quit because I just got tired of the life under a rock, dark and with not enough air to breathe waiting for the day to get crushed!

Alcohol to a quit is like Kryptonite to Superman

Stop, Think and then React. Not React,Stop and then Think

Practice does not make it perfect, makes it permanent. Practice the right things!

Quitting is by far the best decision for the rest of your life.

If a Doctor gives you 6 months to live, would you start living after the first three? Quit now!

" I am a puff away form a pack a day"

Once you stop puffing or having Nicotine in any form, then and only then your symptoms will stop.

I quit with a frozen turkey. Once I felt comfortable with my quit,  I ate it.

Life is such a good teacher, that if you don't learn the lesson it will repeat it to you.

Welcome aboard Krystal. I'm on day 19 of my cold turkey quit. I have found QSMB to be a cornerstone of my quit process. The info and support here is unbelievably helpful. For me the second week was a very tricky and frustrating time. So many times I thought I wanted to throw in the towel. Thanks to this board and close friends I was able to get my brain back on track and my addiction back in its place!! One thing I know for sure is the more I put into my quit the more I get back. It's up to me to do the legwork! Again welcome aboard and congrats to you and your husband!!!

Welcome Cookie, so glad to have you join us. Read EVERYTHING on here you can, especially the Newbie Package - and then read some more. Get your husband on here too to do the same reading. The education and information about the addiction is IMHO essential toward achieving a successful quit. And the people on here are totally supportive and caring.

And once you start your quit get a ticker like so many of us have - it's a powerful motivator. Congratulations on your decision to quit!

Guess the body part? Is that a millennial thing? I went to an all boys

Catholic school and pretty sure I didn't play that game there, but can see how it might be fun if it is what I think it is.
