It would be nice if people who have taken up other addictions when quitting smoking did not feel it necessary to advertise it here at this board.  Lungs are important to some people here.  There is room for a lot of joking ... but about lungs and taking on doing further damage to them ... not much.  It's insulting.  Yesterday a member was having part of her lung removed.  And another member just lost her dad from lung cancer.

And I've tried to help people who were quitting smoking while not drinking and having all that boozing advertising on here doesn't help much either.  It drowned a couple of people trying.  They just couldn't get over the pub talk flashing.

Maybe this forum has lost its focus.

What is wrong with chocolate, coffee and exercise? My 3 addictions I have taken up in a a bigger way than before I quit. Is it okay if I mention those?

I have taken up chocolate, cat food and kissing.  None of those would break a quit from smoking.  Inhaling s*** with those electronic penises and drinking on the other hand, you tell me in your experience.

Drinking my first 6 weeks was a no no.  A few months later I could get back to being a sloppy drunk.

HA Ha ha hahahaha !! You made me spill my night tea talking about those electronic penises   :laughbounce:  :laughbounce:   I was left wondering if they are the kind you buy at the dummy store or at the adult shop?

Nov 6, 2011 I decided " I had enough with this sh*t "

I quit because I just got tired of the life under a rock, dark and with not enough air to breathe waiting for the day to get crushed!

Alcohol to a quit is like Kryptonite to Superman

Stop, Think and then React. Not React,Stop and then Think

Practice does not make it perfect, makes it permanent. Practice the right things!

Quitting is by far the best decision for the rest of your life.

If a Doctor gives you 6 months to live, would you start living after the first three? Quit now!

" I am a puff away form a pack a day"

Once you stop puffing or having Nicotine in any form, then and only then your symptoms will stop.

I quit with a frozen turkey. Once I felt comfortable with my quit,  I ate it.

Life is such a good teacher, that if you don't learn the lesson it will repeat it to you.

the term aping makes me laugh.  arm up in the air, scratching the armpit image.

My vent is that I have a new job and I am SICK AND TIRED of people TELLING me things that I'm supposed to understand and remember.  Now ... I am grateful to have this job, I know I need the new info, they're trying to help, this is not a bad thing ... BUT I NEED TO VENT BECAUSE IT FEELS LIKE MY HEAD MIGHT EXPLODE if I have to hear about one more policy or procedure.

whew.  Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday.

Good point.  They probably evolved from the adult shop :laughbounce: :laughbounce:

Now you will never look at one puffing away on the sidewalk the same way again ... You won't be able but to see this delightful vision!  :laughbounce: :laughbounce:

I know, the action is not attractive, and now that the mind visual has changed for good, I'll have to wait and see what will be my reaction.

Hollyhell,

When I used the e-cig at the beginning of my quit, I use to call it my robo cig (robot cigarette). It had a fake ash at the front that fell off and you could see the wires underneath.

However, I must say your description of e-cigs as electronic penises takes the cake, prize..... OMG, you're a mess, but in a good way, LOL LOL
