What do you like best about yourself as a nonsmoker?

This is the main board for posting messages about quitting smoking. Ask questions, offer help and communicate with fellow smokers and ex-smokers.

If you post attacks on other people or other non quit smoking posts, they will be moved to the Pointless forum. THIS IS A QUIT SMOKING FORUM.

I don't know if it is what I like best, but it makes me very happy to have my bottle of Coco Chanel on my bathroom counter. Always, when smoking, I carried it in my car so I could give myself a blast of it before entering work or a restaurant or whatever. (yes, we all know that doesn't work-but I did it anyway)

Now I give myself a little spray while dressing and I am good for the day. That bottle sitting there so pretty on the counter makes me feel proud.

Being able to take a deep breath and not cough is amazing. I can't get over how fast my smoker's cough went away!

I really enjoy that I can walk out of the house with just a small purse or no purse at all. I no longer have to have my cigs, a lighter, perfume to cover the smell, hand sanitizer to try to mask the smell ect.

It has to be the Freedom for me. Remember looking at your pack of cigarettes at like 8:30 pm and only having 1 or 2 left? I don't miss those days at all.

all of the above, but the level of my health and fitness would propably be #1 as I feel it keeps me not wanting to smoke more than any other reason, smoking while on a tread mill doesn't look cool :)

Everything! But especially the mornings and being able to take a great big stretch and a deep breath in instead of rushing for my pack of smokes before my eyes are even open.

I am SO happy to not be a slave anymore.

I have confidence now that I didn't have when I smoked. I know I smell good and I am not polluting anyone's air or stinking up a car or throwing butts out of the window. Amy

I agree with what everyone said. Joyce, I lost my nasty cough during the first week. When that happened there was no turning back.

I like not deep down feeling guilty 15 to 20 times a day!
