Back and forth, back and forth I went! Driving myself crazy! Finally my angel side had had enough and said..."Just go take a F'n shower already!!!"   So I'm proud to say that instead of coming on here saying today is Day 1, I can say that
today is Day 5!!

Yay you! Well done Kay! :) We are all so proud of you. You certainly do have a LOT of temptations, but instead of listening to the nasty demon, you listened to your angel. Yippie ..... It's gonna be a great year!

Stay strong Kay. This isn't easy, but it is soooo worth it!

Thank you all for your support and encouragement! It means ALOT to me. I have been doing fine these last few days. I even sat
in the Great Room, in front of the fireplace this morning and drank my first cup a joe with my 0 nicotine ecig this morning. My husbands
regular cigs were sitting right next to me!! But I was only tempted for a nanosecond...Just a very passing thought of...oh I could have one
of those instead....but then I thought WHY would I want one of those?? They taste NASTY, and MINE taste soooo much better, vanilla flavored,
MUCH better! :D So I'm happy to post that I start Day 7 this morning! :D :D :D

Every breath only has full potential to oxygenate only when it is not suffocated with smoke. Breathe freely, every breath. Keep up the good job!

In another 3 1/2 hours I will have been smoke-free for 7 days! YAY ME! I'm very proud and happy about that!
Although my ecig has no nicotine in it, I do chew some nico gum during the day. Yesterday I chewed 4 pieces of the gum...But I'm
sure over time I'll be dropping that as well! :D With this just being Day 7 I think I'm doing darn well! Especially with cigs laying about the house, and my husband smoking all the time.
I've asked him in the past to please hide his cigarettes, and he does, occassionally. But he isn't very consistant with it, so I've pretty much given up on the idea. The only support I
get is from these boards, so I really appreciate the support I get here! THANK YOU! :D

Doing well here! To celebrate Day 7 I went into town and had myself a Hazelnut latte  I have to admit, that was the first latte I've ever tried
I think I'll try to vanilla latte next time! Here I sit at 2 am (because the puppy woke me up  ) having my first cuppa joe and smoking my 0 nicotine ecig.
Am finishing up Day 9 and preparing to go through Day 10! YAY!! double digits day!!  We have someone coming to the house this morning to
install our generator, so the power will be off for about 5 hours today. I plan on going to Terre Haute (nearest big city) and going shopping!!  Going
to spend some of that $100 I've saved!! This quit feels different to me, I'm not sure why, maybe because now I have something else I can reach for other than
a real cig?? But I really feel like This Quit is my FINAL quit! I have this feeling of peace and calm...no more fighting with the addiction. I just DONE (.) I guess only time
will tell for sure, especially when something stressful happens. But for now I'm feelin good and proud of myself.

Kay you are so rocking this. I am so proud of the sweet smelling, easier breathing YOU,

Stress is for sure a trigger...have you thought about making a plan for the next time stress whaps you? for me, thinking of a plan ahead of time is vital because i am not good at it when i am in the moment. My plan is to walk if possible, even if it is pacing my office, i carry my stress ball ( to throw at my stressors head! LOL), I also have my Ipad with hours of my favorite music and my ecig for the oral fix.

This is your sticky quit. Baby it, protect it, and since you are shopping....always remember that new shoes help ANY situation.

lol @ the new shoes! I'm a jacket person myself! Although I did buy myself a new pair of houseshoes yesterday!
It's now been 10 days since I chose freedom! And how very very free I am feeling! This IS my quit! I've been amazed at how easy it's been this time! My plan when stress hits is to grab MY ecig (no nicotine) instead of one of my husbands nasty tasting/smelling
things! These are sooo much better! I feel like I've FINALLY found the key to a forever quit! I know over time I will use this ecig less and less, but for now, it's definately getting the job done...and since it's no nicotine I have no guilt over using it. I feel like
I should change my name from Eagleswing to I'mFinallyDONE! I feel soooo FREE!! I think it's just a matter of racking up the days at this point. What few craves I've had have been easily dispelled. Never give up on yourself. The answer to YOUR quit is out there! If I had given up on myself I would not be enjoying the total freedom I'm feeling right now!

I'mFinallyDONE!
First..Congratulations! Your experience speaks volumes. I look forward to reading your post.
Stress has also been my Achilles' heel when it comes to quitting and relief was always an easy fix at the nearest cigarette convenience store. One of the great things in your message is that you have this device to fall back on when times are really tough. Even after you have stopped using your PV. Cigarettes are now irrelevant.

Am doing pretty well. Had a "mini" stresser yesterday, and I actually grabbed one of my husband's real cigarettes and took about 5 puffs off of it. In those 5 puffs I realized
A) I didn't really want it.
B) It tasted absolutely NASTY.
C) I've forgotten how to smoke a real cigarette
D) I'd MUCH rather have MY "cig". :D
So I gave it back to him and reached for mine. In about 3 minutes the urge to smoke anything was gone, and it left me wondering why I felt the "need" in the first place?
Now some people, I'm sure, will come on here and say that since I took 5 puffs, I've relapsed and have to start my count all over again, but I don't and since this is my quit, I'm not.
Those 5 puffs where very eye opening and a learning experience for me. I learned that in the future I DEFINATELY don't want one of those, I want one of mine! Are 0 nicotine ecigs addictive??
If I ever reach for a real cigarette again in the future and take ANY puffs off of it, I will start my days over again, I'm not going to allow myself an "out" like that again in the future.

It's your quit treat it anyway you want. Until you stop making excuses for your addiction you will never be free from this addiction."Test" cigarettes Don't work all they do is give you an "out" for next time the "junkie" thinking comes along that it's ok for the addiction to take over and have a "few" puffs.

Nicotine, the addictive substance in tobacco products, is the most common cause of chemical dependency in the U.S., according to the CDC.

Nicotine is an extremely addictive dangerous drug . Tobacco, ecf/casaa(Consumer Addicts Should Advocate Addiction) are, in effect, drug-pushers. Their income depends on keeping millions of Americans hooked.

I had a real cig. a week into my quit. It was also very educational for me. Anytime I really want to reach for another I remember that experience and change my mind. Because the experience was so bad I'm glad I slipped. I had no desire to jump back into smoking, the opposite happened for me.

My husband also still smokes and it does make things harder for me. Something about them sitting right there in my face bothers me. Other people smoking doesn't bother me. Maybe because I wanted him to quit even more than I wanted to quit.

I am a little over 7 weeks without smoking. Should get my new supplies any day and will be able to start dropping the nic. levels. I will have enough to start using 0 as much as possible.

Last night at work was the first time in a long time I really felt the urge to smoke. Thankfully it didn't last too long and just walking outside for a few minutes calmed me down. Sometimes I just have to do some of the old habits - like going outside.

Keep up the good work!
