I have NOT smoked 780 cigs and saved over $200.00. That means something to me regardless of what others may think.

Because its a QUIT METHOD & is marketed as a quit aid besides I'm sure the nictine in patches or gum is ALOT LESS then people vap. :D

Well, actually, it is not marketed as a quit method, it is marketed as a smoking alternative. The studies show that novice vapers get ZERO nicotine from ecigs even though there is nicotine available (they looked at the metaboolic byproducts in urine using methods sensitive enough to detect second-hand smoke). Those studies agree with my experience because I can't tell the difference between 18, 12 or 6 mg/mL liquids. Whereas, when I used the patches or the gum, I was in nicotine overdose in a very, very bad way.

Supposedly, based on my typical smoking patterns I was getting 20 mg/day, but a single 2 mg piece of gum makes me sick. I think smoking is more complicated than big pharma would like us to believe. Sure, nicotine is a major player in all that, but there are 4000 other chemicals we inhale when we smoke.

Beware of big bad pham-well big bad pham has wellbutrin on the market & is under $25 & not only does it help my anxiety level but as an added Side Effect it helps me ignore smoking craves & triggers so don't lump ALL known big pham quit products as useless

I know Wellbutrin works for a lot of people, but it made me smoke more :( I thought that was bizzare, because I found it to be the best antidepressant I ever tried. Life is strange . . .

To the OP,
TL/DR all the comments, but I strongly encourage you talk with your psychologist about your attacks, your smoking habits, and exactly what products you are using and how much. The ecig delivers nicotine in the same manner, minus the chemicals from combustion and the additives used in tobacco. It is absorbed more slowly in the body then the normal cigarette since the vapor is less "substantive" then the smoke from "fags" is. It will depend on your frequency of use and the level of nicotine you are using - both best discussed with a medical professional.

My personal opinion is that cutting out 16 cigarettes a day with the use of an alternate like the ecig is dramatically reducing your nicotine intake. Pay attention to your body. If your heart flutters, you become suddenly flush, or you experience increased panic attacks, immediately seek medical attention. Try to use the lowest nicotine levels of the ecig liquid to get past your urges and continue to cut out as many cigarettes as you can. I stress again a discussion with a medical professional for your personal use would be the best advise anyone here could give. I wish you the best, post back with updates.

And have yet to read a post where someone by using the E cig actually quit smoking and vaping.

Here I am. And I'm not the only one by a long shot. More than a year smoke free, over six months off the ecig.

I don't spend enough time here to bother setting up a quit meter, but I'm doing fine as a permanent ex-smoker, non-practicing nicotine addict.

When I first found this forum, I thought it would be a good place to spend some online time, reinforcing my commitment to stay quit and offering any help I could to others who are in the same fight.

I stopped coming around too much due to the downright outright nastiness and hostility I encountered.

But I still try to pop in once in a while- just to mention this: Used ecigs, and quit. Tried a lot of other stuff, didn't manage it. Tried ecigs, pulled it off.

They aren't for everybody. But they worked well for me.

Best,
SS

Kudos to you for quitting, Simon! Not an e-cig user myself, but I did try one while I was still a smoker, and just found it too odd for me. (Of course, at the time, I hadn't started planning for my quit - so if it wasn't a REAL cigarette, I didn't want it!)

I chose to quit using another method, but I fully support any method that helps someone quit. The reality is that everyone's quit is different, so why shouldn't their methods be different as well?

Congratulations again!

I am so glad you managed to get off tobacco. Well done you. I am of the opinion it doesn't matter what way you do it as long as you get off that stuff. i use the ecig and i do know I couldn't have stopped without it.
Well done and thank you for posting this xxx

Well its nice to see out of the maybe 20 some posters/believers in the E cig you're the first to admit you ACTUALLY did quit totally.

Thank you.
I'm happy to have quit. Don't miss the cigs or the ecigs.

It's funny- I actually know a number of people who quit this way, but they don't seem to find this forum. Or is it that they aren't welcome?

Best,
SS
