It seems like it's been forever already and I am not even at a month yet !! I guess I've been more determined this quit to not slip and I have dislodged my romancing of smoking! I appreciate all the support of everybody here. I have been playing the guitar a lot and painting at home. I lost my oil painting class and I miss it but I am pleased with the paintings I do. I don't have photo capability or I would share some. anyways, just wanted to thank everyone for helping me. this site has helped me more than I ever thought possible and I have been a pain in the neck so long I am happy to be here.
almost a month...longest month of my life!

Hey Jukebox; you're doing great!! Almost a month and still at it. That 1 month marker is really special because that 1st month is soooo hard for most of us! Like you said, seems like forever when you're going through it. Time almost stands still during your early quit. The good news is that you will start to feel a lot better really soon. Things will start changing and getting a little easier than that 1st month and passage of time will become more normal again. That's what I found anyway.
All the best and keep moving forward with your quit. Will be looking for your 1 month celebrations coming soon!!

Things began to get better when I realized I would remain quit even if things never got any better.

Always keep in mind, you are not going through this because you quit...you are going through this because you smoked. Nancy
Being successful doesn't mean that you'll never GET to smoke again. It means that you'll never HAVE to smoke again.

jukebox, I know exactly what you mean saying it seems like it's been forever already. My ticker seems to just sit around laughing at me, I mean it should read 5 months, or 8 months 22 days. 'Cause that's how long it feels I've been at this. But nooooo.....
You're doing great. I'm doing great. All God's chilluns on here are doing great. 'Cause we're hanging in there and keeping our quits. You and I (and everyone on here) just have to be patient and build this thing one day at a time. The hours then the days then the weeks and months will pass and one day we will realize hey! I'm a total nonsmoker, I haven't smoked in a year, and how awesome will that be?!!!

That's how it is when you don't stick to your quit, JB. I know, I have thrown away quits too. I've been here over two years and I see that you're going on two years yourself. It's a lot of time to put in to get a successful quit. I will say that now that I am closing in on a year, the time seems to go by quickly. I imagine it will be that way for you too. You just have to stick it out and hang on to your quit for dear life!
Congratulations on getting through the first three weeks, JB! You're doing great!!!

But hey we are still here! You are doing great! Don't forget to celebrate 💃🏻
We are in our quit almost the same age and even I forget the smoking sometimes. Isn't that amazing?

Smoking can rot us from the inside. If we let it. Don't let that happen to you. Smoking is not an option.
